This is a comprehensive guidance document developed to facilitate and support the implementation of a coherent methodology for public policy geared toward protecting children. The specific objectives of the guidance document, as Section 2.2 states, are to:
- Promote the strengthening of protective factors and the prevention of violations in the environments where children and adolescents spend their lives.
- Strengthen the skills, vocations, and talents of children and adolescents to consolidate freedom and autonomy
- Encourage the genuine and critical participation of children and adolescents, in order to enhance their agency and influence in the construction of safe environments, free of discrimination and violence for social, cultural, and territorial transformation.
- Promote the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents, as well as their families and communities.
- Promote the implementation of reasonable supports to enable the participation and inclusion of children and adolescents with disabilities in the different environments where they spend their lives and the enjoyment of life in the community.
- Promote caregiving actions for families and caregivers through practices that favor the strengthening of emotional bonds and the recognition of the caregiving work provided to girls, boys, and adolescents.
