(Kingdom of the Netherlands) – Concrete action by the Security Council, UN Member States, humanitarian agencies and other UN entities is needed to counter the negative and reinforcing trends of rising conflict and increasing food insecurity. Prevention of food insecurity linked to conflict, improving compliance with international humanitarian law, and a comprehensive operational response are all essential parts of our common response to the threat of famine in conflict situations.
