(HRW) – If you had any doubt the war in Afghanistan is getting worse for civilians, statistics out today show that in the first quarter of 2017, children were increasingly bearing the brunt of the bloody conflict. While there was a modest 2 percent decrease in overall civilian deaths, child deaths increased by 17 percent over the same period in 2016. Children make up one-third of all casualties.
