January 2022 – In a statement to mark the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the United Nations’ Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC) mandate, Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict reflects on the progress made by the mandate in protecting children from the impacts of war, as well as existing gaps and emerging challenges.
Watchlist highlights the need to redouble efforts to create a brighter future for all children, especially those affected by war, and outlines three key areas to continue to build upon the progress made.
The statement was delivered on January 18, 2022, at the high-level virtual event to mark the CAAC mandate’s 25th anniversary.
