This month’s update highlights children and armed conflict concerns and provides recommendations towards the briefing on the Protection of Civilians/Implementation of Security Council Resolution 2286 (2016) on the protection of medical facilities and personnel in armed conflict, as well as for the protection of children in the situations of Afghanistan, Central African Republic (CAR), and South Sudan/Sudan (Abyei). It also provides an update on the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict conclusion negotiations regarding the Secretary-General’s report on the situation of children and armed conflict in Mali.
