(Rappler) – Around 30 children in remote villages of Northern Samar will skip school this year as they have become the latest recruits of the New People’s Army (NPA), an army official said. Brigadier General Mario Lacurom, 803rd Brigade Commander, said they received reports of a massive NPA recruitment drive targetting children in the remote villages of the northeastern Pacific towns of Mapanas and Palapag here. He said the NPA has recruited around 30 children in the two towns.
