(All Africa) – The war between Sudan and newly independent South Sudan lasted between 1983 and 2005 during which the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) which fought against the Sudanese government conscripted children into the army. Most of an estimated 17,000 minors who were forced to fight as soldiers were unaccounted for.
