Lisa Sherman-Nikolaus is Watchlist’s Advocacy Officer. She is responsible for advancing Watchlist’s priorities with the United Nations, in particular the Security Council. Prior to joining Watchlist, Lisa was researcher on West Africa at Amnesty International where she was responsible for investigating, advocating and campaigning to end human rights violations in the Gambia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. She was based in Senegal. Lisa was also a campaigner at Amnesty International, based in London, where she covered health and human rights issues. Lisa has a keen interest in working to end violations in armed conflict, and she holds a Master of Arts degree in Conflict, Security and Development from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. Lisa started her career as a pediatric nurse. Lisa is Guatemalan and American, and based in New York.
