Dragica Mikavica is Watchlist’s Advocacy Officer, and leads the design and implementation of Watchlist’s advocacy strategies in New York in order to advance its priorities with the UN Security Council, permanent missions, agencies, and other relevant bodies. Previously, Dragica served as Watchlist’s Program Manager from 2013 to early 2015. Dragica worked alongside UNDP’s Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery performing UN-based policy research on conflict prevention from 2010 to 2013. She also conducted human rights field-work in Nepal in 2010. She was educated at Cornell University (B.A. 2006) and The New School (M.A. 2011). Dragica’s innate passion for advocating for children’s rights in conflict springs from her firsthand experience of growing up in a war-affected country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the early 1990s. She is based in New York.
