Joint Order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Office of the Prosecutor General № 493/5/67/32 “On the introduction and implementation of a Pilot Project involving psychologists in criminal proceedings involving minors through regional/interregional centers for the provision of free legal aid”

The order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Office of the Prosecutor General № 493/5/67/32, with subsequent amendments, introduces a pilot project to involve psychologists in criminal proceedings involving minors. The main goal of this project is to protect the rights of children and prevent their retraumatization during court proceedings.

Within the framework of this project, psychologists engaged through regional and interregional centers for the provision of free legal aid play a crucial role in supporting children, especially in criminal cases where children have been affected by the war. This involvement focuses on both psychological and legal protection, with particular attention given to cases related to children’s experiences of war.
