Colombia
Judicial Decision
2018
This ruling was adopted by the Constitutional Court of Colombia on March 3, 2018. The ruling analysed a statutory law regarding transitional measures to provide pardons and amnesties on certain crimes during the armed conflict. It maintained 18 as the national standard for the minimum use and recruitment age during non-international armed conflict. This ruling extends the prohibition that stems from Additional Protocol II to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which prohibits recruitment of children below the age of 15.
