Syria
2023
The process of developing a ‘Social Contract’ began in northeast Syria in October 2013. The first ‘Social Contract’ was adopted in 2014 and was subsequently revised in 2016 and 2023.[1] Article 55 of the 2023 version of the ‘Social Contract’ states, “Children’s rights are protected, and the use of violence against them, their employment, exploitation and recruitment are prohibited. This is regulated by law.”
