On August 2, 2016, under the Presidency of Malaysia, the Security Council held an Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict for the presentation of the Secretary-General’s 15th Annual Report on Children and Armed Conflict. Published pursuant to Resolution 2225 (2015), report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2015. Malaysia drew attention to the report’s two thematic sections at the Open Debate: reducing the impact of violent extremism on children and children displaced by conflict.
