(The Guardian) – My name is Oscar. I do not know my age, but I think I am about 14 years old. Today is universal children’s day, and I want to take this opportunity to tell you my story. I’m sad to say that my story is not any different from very many children around the world who are caught up in conflict. I was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This is a very dangerous country and more than 2.7 million children have died in the Congo because of the war there and many children are now completely alone and without their parents. The Congo has also been called the rape capital of the world.
