Brooke Blanchard is Watchlist’s Program Manager. She supports all areas of Watchlist’s work including advocacy initiatives, fundraising and grant management and the development of country specific reports. Brooke draws a deep understanding of protection challenges from her work as a child protection specialist and researcher with local NGOs in East Africa, South America and Central America. Her work has included monitoring and reporting, in collaboration with UNICEF, on child labor law violations for agricultural and domestic workers in Ecuador as well as managing the design and implementation of a livelihoods program for street youth living in the urban slums around Nairobi. Prior to Watchlist, Brooke also worked for the International Rescue Committee as a refugee Youth Program and Education Coordinator in its resettlement offices. Brooke has a background in international affairs, human rights and sociology. She obtained a master’s degree in international affairs with a concentration in human rights and humanitarian affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a BA from Barnard College. She is from Berkeley California and is currently based in New York City.
