This directive—issued by the Ministry of Defence of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on May 3, 2013—“prohibit[s] the killing, maiming and recruitment of and sexual violence against children, in addition to the occupation of schools and hospitals.”[1] The directive also “stat[es] that perpetrators would face disciplinary measures or military prosecution.”[2]
