(Save the Children) –  Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council have issued a new report  called ‘Hear it From the Children: Why education in emergencies is critical’. The report highlights, through the voices of crisis-affected communities in Dollo Ado refugee camps in Ethiopia and in Northern DRC, that education is critical in humanitarian contexts. One of the clearest messages from the children in these communities is that, “without education, we will have no future”. Around the world, armed conflict is depriving 50 million children of their right to education. Education in crisis-affected contexts can protect children and give them hope for their future. As shown in the report, without education children may be recruited into armed groups, exposed to sexual violence or early marriage or forced to work.
