Watchlist monitors and reports on violations against children in specific country situations. Together with our local and international partners, we strategically collect and disseminate information on violations and use this information to advocate for change.
Watchlist produces “Field Monitors” based on field research conducted by our staff.
The purpose of the “Field Monitors” is not only to assess the situation of children affected by conflict, but also to evaluate current responses to violations in the framework of the UN-led Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM), and makes recommendations to improve its effectiveness on the ground.
As such, our “Field Monitors” provide an independent perspective on the protection needs of children in specific situations of conflict, as well as the response to those needs.
Finally, the “Field Monitors” also provide targeted recommendations to key actors and constitute a basis for further advocacy.
